COMCAST RAISES THE STAKES

| | Comments (0)

Comcast CEO, Brian Roberts announced yesterday that they will offer a very aggressive video on demand service so that consumers can watch just about any show or movie on their television or computer at any time. With a target of 6,000 titles, I am confident I can find something to watch whether I am unable to sleep at 2am or on the road with the band.

Interestingt to me that they along with Netflix and Apple are investing in making on line video delivery work at a time when Wal-Mart pulled the plug. I think it is telling that it is not as simple as hosting a bunch of movies and hoping folks will have an experience that meets customer expectation.

Seeing all of these players getting into the game so aggressively this year confirms for me that at least the first of the predications made in the Economist in December is accurate.
